GrowRVA, formerly The Market Umbrella, connects local farms, local food, and local arts with Richmond communities. In addition to the GrowRVA Food Truck Court, owner Karen Atkinson is building partnerships, promoting sustainability, and healthy food options through the South of the James Farmers Market.

The state’s largest farmers market, South of the James brings fresh, local, and sustainable products and produce to more than 4,000 Richmonders every Saturday. “What better way to support your community while also enjoying some of the best products and foods that Virginia has to offer,” says Atkinson.

“This is your economy…so much more of the dollar you spend at a locally owned shop or with a local farmer or a local restaurant or food vendor stays right here in Richmond. And that dollar eventually comes back to you.”
