Bio: Digital advocate and multitasker at Fahrenheit Emerging Media. PR major from VCU. I enjoy running, picnics, naps and heavy books. Shiny objects are a plus.

” I got RT’d by MTV once. It was pretty exciting.”

So, why do you Tweet?

I know saying, “it’s how I keep in touch with everyone” is incredibly cliche, but it’s so true. I look to Twitter for news, updates on my friends, events going on around town and especially for sharing my life with others. Even if they don’t particularly want to hear/read it.

And on an average day, how often do you figure that you tweet?

It really depends on the day but I tend to tweet at least five to six times a day from my personal handle.

Time to brag — do you have a favorite tweet of your own that you’ve posted?

“Posting a passive aggressive comment on Facebook is the new slapping someone in the face with a hand glove.” – Mostly because it’s kind of true.

Which of your tweets have been the most popular, caused the most stink, or generated the most buzz?

I’ve managed to keep my tweets fairly uncontroversial; I try not to stir the pot too much. I don’t necessarily post what my soup of the day is, but I try not to ruffle any feathers either. Boring, I know.

Got a good Twitter story?

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Ana. She was awesome and lived in Richmond. The end. Tweetable story – 140 characters or less! Seriously though, I won tickets to a Squirrels game once thanks to a RT for the VA Lottery.

Any favorite (good or bad) replies?

I got RT’d by MTV once. It was pretty exciting.

If you weren’t using your current Twitter handle, what would you call yourself?

@MugnutPi – Because I’m a huge fan of mugs and Tom Selleck? Not really, I do like mugs though and thought it’d be a funny handle.

Who are some of your favorite Tweeps that you’re currently following?

@DrunkHulk, @SteveMartinToGo and @FakeAPStyleBook are my go-tos for comedic relief, but some local-ish favorites are: @HeyArt, @Irandless and @BAHJournalist.

When you’re not using Twitter what other platforms tickle your fancy?

I won’t say Facebook. I won’t say Facebook. Okay, fine. Facebook. I’m definitely using Pinterest more and Tumblr will always be a favorite. P.S. I’m still on MySpace. It’ll make a come back. Promise.

What’s coming up next for you in 2012, in terms of how you plan to use Twitter or other platforms?

I can’t credit Twitter enough for where I am in my life, both personally and professionally. I even – sort of – met my fiance through Twitter and it’s helped me a lot in planning my wedding. In 2012 I’m really hoping to broaden my platform horizons so to speak and am looking forward to cultivating new relationships and building on the current ones I have. Twitter, in particular is a really incredible platform and it’s been amazing to see how fast its grown in a short amount of time.
