UNTAMED Costumed Gala To Support ICA

Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU, a non-collecting space dedicated to exploring the art and issues of our time, is hosting UNTAMED, their largest fundraiser of the year, on Saturday, October 27. The UNTAMED fundraiser is a costumed/creative black tie event that is timed to coincide with the opening of two new exhibitions, Hedges, Edges, Dirt, and Provocations: Rashid Johnson.

“You can go full costume or relax a bit with creative black tie,” explains Kim Childs, a member of the Untamed Co-Host Committee. “If so inspired, you can dress according to the ‘Untamed’ theme—really anything wild will do!”

Proceeds from the costumed gala will support the ICA’s mission to offer free admission and programming while providing an open forum for dialogue and collaboration across the region and throughout the world.

UNTAMED will begin at 6pm with a VIP Reception for ICA Plus and Premier Members and will be followed by a gala from 7 pm to 10 pm. Tickets are $150 and there is a “Friends Bundle” for $750, which includes access to the VIP reception. All tickets include unlimited food and drinks, valet parking, and access to the ICA exhibits. This is a 21+ event.

ICA is located at the intersection of Belvidere and Broad Streets in the center of Richmond, between the VCU/VUU and Arts District Pulse stops.

The event is presented by the Untamed Co-Host Committee: Katie Bisceglia, Kim Childs, Molly Dodge, Neil Gregory, Maggie Jones, Aubrey Lipscomb, Laura Mills, Julia Monroe, Alexandra Saunders, Liz Valentine, and Farrar Wentworth.
