The Well, an Art Gallery located in the Blackwell neighborhood, is currently showing “Black History Now,” a group art exhibition focusing on themes and motifs of the present state of black history. The exhibition explores how black history is celebrated, channeled, discovered, dismissed, sustained, and constricted.

“We pay homage to those who have preceded us, but we also understand the essential function of highlighting and praising those individuals, causes, ideas and movements which impact history, even in our daily lives,” says Rosetta Crenius, CEO of Crenius and gallery manager.  “Through various media including paintings, photography, sculptures, graffiti and installations, the exhibit weaves many voices into one story. We aim to create conversations and ongoing dialogue around this exhibit. We welcome everyone to join us in this dialogue.”

Artists featured in “Black History Now” include Aleyah Grimes, Angelique Scott, Chelsea Vanhook, Christopher Smith, Dionna Fortune, Genevieve DeMarco, Graph Atik, Justice Dwight, Kellyu Joh, Kyle M. Epps, Mona Dworkin, Oneisha Sharon, Ray Johnson, Ron Stokes, Tommy the Animator, and Xplore Freedom. The exhibition was curated by Crenius, Ricky Parker, Jowarnise, Artuphoria and The Human Connection.
