Beijing On Grove Hosts Beer Dinner

Beijing On Grove, a restaurant by EAT Restaurant Partners in the Libbie and Grove corridor, has teamed up with Blue Mountain Brewery for a special holiday beer dinner tonight starting at 6pm. The event will feature five Blue Mountain beers paired with four dishes created by Chef Zhao “Fei Lone.”

Blue Mountain, located in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, opened in 2007 as the first brewery in Nelson County. On tap tonight, Blue Mountain will serve its Kolsch 151, a light German-style ale indigenous to Köln; Full Noonan, a Vermont-style IPA with the flavor and aroma of American and New Zealand hops; Blitzen, a Belgian strong dark ale; Lights Out; a holiday Old Ale with a deep malt flavor and earthy hop spiciness; and Dark Hollow; a low-roast imperial stout with notes of bourbon and vanilla.

Chef Zhao will begin the evening with Tempura Calamari served with house XO Ponzu sauce. The second course will feature Emperor’s Shumai, fresh ground shrimp, pork and mushroom blended with fresh herbs and gently stuffed into wonton skin. Next, Chef Zhao will serve Chinese 6 Spiced Chicken, wok seared white breast meat with mushrooms and bell peppers in spicy garlic sauce. The next course will be Fragrant Duck with Plum Sauce smoked in Chef Zhao’s Giant Wok with Chinese Tea leaves and served in a sweet and sour sugar plum sauce. And finally, a surprise seafood course.

Tickets are $50 (plus tax and tip). There’s still time to email ryan@eatrestaurantpartners.com to reserve a spot.
