Chef Joe Sparatta and Hardywood and Team Up

Chef Joe Sparatta is at it again. As one of Richmond’s most celebrated chefs, Sparatta has been in hot demand ever since opening Heritage, which has racked up awards and accolades from the moment it opened in 2012. Last week, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery announced a headline grabbing partnership with Sparatta at the helm of a new a restaurant planned for 2020 at the brewery’s West Creek location.

“Since opening last year, Hardywood West Creek has become a regional hub as well as a significant destination brewery for tourism, drawing more than 125,000 visitors in our first year. There’s not yet a public restaurant in the 3,500-acre West Creek community, and we feel incredibly honored to bring one to life in partnership with Joe,” said Hardywood President and Co-founder Eric McKay.

“As exciting as it was for us to dream about a restaurant at West Creek, it wasn’t until Joe came on the project that Eric and I knew this would be a truly memorable concept and experience. As longtime patrons of Heritage and Southbound, we know Joe’s immense talents as a chef first-hand. We can’t wait to open this restaurant and share our concept with our guests,” said Hardywood Brewmaster and Co-founder Patrick Murtaugh.

Under the direction of Chef Sparatta, Hardywood’s new restaurant will focus on gourmet, fast-casual concept with seasonal menus, featuring local ingredients that showcase Virginia produce.
