Chef Mike Ledesma to Host Experimental Beer Dinner

Mike Ledesma, a popular Richmond chef with a loyal following, is set to host an “Experimental Beer Dinner” in collaboration with Väsen Brewing Company on Thursday, November 30th. Ledesma is best known for serving as the executive chef for Richmond Restaurant Group where he played a pivotal role in The Daily, East Coast Provisions, Pearl Raw Bar, The Hill Café and two Hard Shell locations. Ledesma is opening Perch, his newest restaurant, in early 2018 in Scott’s Addition near Väsen Brewing. His collaboration with Väsen will mark the first collaboration between the two local businesses who share in a similar approach to experimentation.

Väsen, which opened July 29, combines the experimental spirit that defines American craft beer with the rustic flavors of Belgian farmhouse and sour ales. Known for its distinctive brewing process, has regularly produced balanced, sessionable beers along with weekly surprise beers since its launch in the Richmond market. Väsen teamed with Ledesma for a special evening celebrating a shared sense of adventure. Their surprise menu, featuring five-courses, will offer a sneak peek at the inspiration behind Ledesma’s newest restaurant opening in Scott’s Addition.

The November 30th beer dinner will offer a mashup of Southern comfort food and pan-Pacific cuisine that is complemented by Väsen’s Belgian farmhouse and sour ales. The setting for the beer dinner will be the private Barrel Room located inside Väsen brewing facilities in the HandCraft Building at 3331 West Moore Street. Event organizers are inviting Richmonders to pull up a seat at the farmhouse tables at Väsen and join Ledesma in celebration of local beer, food, and experimentation.
