Richmond Performing Arts Alliance (RPAA) is celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Dominion Energy Center for the Performing Arts with a Community Arts Open House taking place on September 8th at 1:00 pm. RPAA opened the doors of Dominion Energy Center 15 years ago to serve as the hub for an array of local performing arts organizations to share their art form with the Richmond community.
The Richmond community is invited to join the venue’s Resident Companies and other local artists to kick off the arts season with a day of FREE hands-on activities, art-making workshops, theatre tours, demonstrations, and performances, celebrating the transformative power of the arts. Workshops, performances, and activities will be provided by Cadence, City of Richmond Department of Parks & Recreation, Elegba Folklore Society, Latin Ballet of Virginia, Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond, Richmond Ballet, Richmond Shakespeare, Richmond Symphony, SPARC, Virginia Opera Virginia Repertory Theatre, and more.
The upcoming event will showcase the rich diversity of the arts in the Richmond region, offering activities suitable for both youth and adults. Attendees can pre-register through RPAA’s website to be entered into a drawing for free tickets courtesy of ASM Richmond. Pre-registration will remain open through the week of the event.
