Bio: I like Johnny Depp, planting things and rescuing cats.

” I’m fairly certain I lose 25% of my followers during a tennis Grand Slam. Hopefully, I win them back later with all of my cat photos.”

So, why do you Tweet?

To talk to people without having to put on make-up. That’s a lie. I always tweet in full make-up. Actually, I’m in a Twitter reading phase right now. I tweet less and less, but I still read Twitter every day. It’s still the best way to find out what’s going on in the world. Plus, some of you are really pretty hilarious.

I’ve been on Twitter since 2009 and intended just to maintain an account for work. That obviously backfired. I’ve learned a lot from social media in the past 2 1/2 years, but mostly that I’m a decent PR rep for my employer but not so great at representing myself. I’m okay with this.

And on an average day, how often do you figure that you tweet?

0-1 times. Don’t yell at me.

Time to brag — do you have a favorite tweet of your own that you’ve posted?

Maybe not one in particular, but I tend to get a lot of RTs when I’m sharing ridiculous anecdotes about my ridiculous domestic life. There are many reasons why I’m glad my husband is not on Twitter. Many. My favorite tweet that I’ve retweeted is from @luckyshirt: “I’ll preheat ovens when I’m dead.” So perfect on so many levels.

Which of your tweets have been the most popular, caused the most stink, or generated the most buzz?

I’m fairly certain I lose 25% of my followers during a tennis Grand Slam. Hopefully, I win them back later with all of my cat photos.

Got a good Twitter story?

One afternoon, I was having a conversation with @rosscatrow about the movie 9 1/2 Weeks and accidently sent a tweet from my work account. Something about Mickey Rourke and rainy sex scenes in gloomy stairwells. I deleted it right away, but I learned two valuable lessons: 1. managing more than one account on Tweetdeck can get you into trouble, and 2. @rosscatrow has excellent taste in movies.

Any favorite (good or bad) replies?

A friend of ours died unexpectedly last summer, and some friends gathered to tell some stories and sip some bourbon. I tweeted about it, and a follower replied that he’d lost two friends recently and chose to honor their memories by reminiscing rather than drinking, blah, blah, blah. He ended with “I guess it depends on who your friends are.”

As obnoxious and judgmental as his response was, I didn’t fire back because I knew in my heart that a. He was new to Twitter and just didn’t know any better, and b. He was totally lying. Everyone drinks when their friends die.

If you weren’t using your current Twitter handle, what would you call yourself?

@bruno That’s what everyone calls me anyway. My first name is quickly becoming irrelevant, and no one can spell it correctly!

Who are some of your favorite Tweeps that you’re currently following?

I like @heyitsphil because he’s so unjaded and stoked to be here, @racheldepompa for news and her adorable sports fan tweets, @bpfox for harrowing tales from the kitchen and parenthood, and @bestycoastyy for reassuring me that cool, down to earth females do exist in today’s music industry.

When you’re not using Twitter what other platforms tickle your fancy?

Did you really just say “tickle your fancy?”

What’s coming up next for you in 2012, in terms of how you plan to use Twitter or other platforms?

In 2012, I’ll be running four Twitter and Facebook accounts for work, as well as a Linkedin account and a YouTube channel. If @lesleybruno has any time left, she might spend it reading a book. Don’t worry though. There’s always tennis season.
