Martin Agency Partners with Väsen for Collaboration Ale and Fundraiser

Richmond’s largest creative shop, the Martin Agency, has volunteered its talent to support a local nonprofit working to change the lives of youth who live in public housing. Richmond Cycling Corps worked with some of the Martin Agency’s top creatives on an event designed to help fund its efforts to develop underserved communities through cycling.

To create a memorable fundraiser, the Martin Agency developed a concept featuring some of Richmond’s greatest interests – beer, bikes, and active lifestyle. Set to take place November, 17th, the event will feature a unique collaboration with Väsen Brewing Company, Scott’s Addition’s newest craft brewery.

Together, the Martin Agency and Matt Crane, director of development at Richmond Cycling Corps, brewed a collaborative ale with Väsen that will be released during the event. The end result was a Grisset, a Belgian style saison called Van’s Hardtail Ale, that is spiked with New Zealand hops. Grid magazine’s beer bike, a repurposed tandem bicycle that carries two sixtels of beer and a wooden bar top, will be used to serve the beer during the event.

“It isn’t often that The Martin Agency, Grid magazine, and one of the city’s hottest breweries come to you with an idea for throwing a big party, but that’s exactly that happened to Richmond Cycling Corps,” said Crane. “Thanks to some great ideas hatched over Väsen beer, we are proud to throw a really special fundraising event featuring Van’s Hardtail Ale, a one-of-a-kind beer brewed in honor of our cycling based outreach work.”

Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 with 100% of the cost directed to Richmond Cycling Corps. Included in the price of the ticket, guests will receive a button and coaster with the event logo designed by the Martin Agency, free bike tune ups by Richmond Bicycle Studio, an indoor bike race on GoldSprints, and a raffle ticket for a Masi Speciale Uno track bike. Van’s Hardtail Ale release fundraiser will also feature food from Indo Tibetan Kitchen as well as music by DJ Ant Boogie.

Tickets for the fundraiser supporting Richmond Cycling Corps can be purchased at the door or online at https://rccsnowflake.ticketleap.com/hardtail-ale-release-party/.
