PETER CHANG IS HEADED DOWNTOWN

After leading rabid followers across the southeast for the past several years, the critically acclaimed and award winning Sichuan chef Peter Chang is putting down roots in Virginia. Since opening Peter Chang’s China Grill in Charlottesville in 2011, Chang has moved east down the I-64 corridor.

His Short Pump location, Peter Chang’s China Cafe opened to rave reviews this spring and a 170 seat Williamsburg location opened in September.
Next up for Chang is Downtown Richmond. Bringing his signature cumin laced lamb chops and spicy noodles to the Arts & Cultural District, Chang will likely call the Miller & Rhoades building home soon. What that means for Central Virginia is more access to some of the best Sichuan food this side of China, redolent with hot and numbing chilies and peppers, delicate fried fish and eggplant, fantastically spherical pancakes, and an authentic and unique style that redefines the meaning and taste of Chinese food for most Americans.
