Richmond History Makers: Pam Mines

The Valentine’s Richmond History Makers award ceremony, hosted tonight at Virginia Union University’s Claude G. Perkins Living and Learning Center, will recognize the region-wide impact of an impressive collection of hometown visionaries. In lead up to the celebration, Richmond Grid is featuring each of this year’s honorees.

Today we spotlight Pam Mines, a philanthropist and the President/Founder of the JP JumPers Foundation. The Foundation’s vision is to “JumP In” to positively impact the special needs community. Her diligent and proactive efforts to pass “JPs Law” (in honor of her son, not in memory of him) impacted not just those with autism and intellectual disabilities, but also their families, law enforcement and the wider community.  Pam’s passion and determination has inspired many to become involved in her effort to remove the stigma of those with special needs.

The award ceremony recognizing Mines, and the other honorees, will take place tonight, March 13, 2018, from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM, at 1813-1899 Bath Street.
