Spirit 76 Ride – bike ride to support local nonprofit

Calling bicycle riders of all ages and abilities! The annual Spirit 76 Ride will take place rain or shine Sept. 6, 2014. Proceeds benefit CCHASM (Chesterfield/Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministry), a local nonprofit that assists individuals and families who, for various reasons (loss of jobs, medical emergencies, loss of the primary income member, recent disability), are experiencing an acute economic crisis, which threatens their basic survival needs

This fun, family-friendly outdoor bike ride has something to offer all cyclists. Three on-road routes span Chesterfield County’s rolling wooded hills and gentle countryside. Choose from a 25-, 40-, or even a 76-mile ride, with support and gear wagons, rest stops, indoor restrooms and food stations along all routes. Two new off-road options will steer bikers through Pocahontas State Park for 4.81 or 13.48 miles.

Then all riders can celebrate their success at the post-ride pizza party, during which CCHASM will give away some great door prizes. To find out more about the routes, start times and to register, visit www.CCHASM.org.
