Uncork Hope Benefiting Medical Home Plus

The 7th Annual Uncork Hope, a fundraising event benefiting Medical Home Plus, a nonprofit organization that provides educational and support services to families of children with special needs, will take place on November 9 at the Dewey Gottwald Center. The event will include live music and entertainment featuring hearty hors d’oevres and drinks.
Funds raised during Uncork Hope will support the IEP Advisory Services Scholarship Fund, which provides free IEP advisory services to families that could not afford these services otherwise. An IEP is a road map required in a public school setting that defines the educational plan for a child with special needs. The IEP process is complex, technical, and often daunting and confusing for parents. However, parental involvement during the process is key to the student’s academic success. IEP advisory services help parents partner more effectively with their child’s educational team during the IEP process. However, these services are too costly for many families that need them.
To meet this need, Medical Home Plus provides free IEP advisory services through its IEP Advisory Services Scholarship Fund to families of children with special needs. The IEP Advisory Services Scholarship Fund by Medial Home Plus is the only one of its kind on the East Coast.
